These young lions worked hard and it really showed. Cameron Carter placed 1st in the 100, 200, and 4-by-100 Relay. Abraham Casillas placed 2nd in the 100, 200, and 1st in the 4-by-100 relay. Jaydin Nieto Placed 4th in the 200, 5th in the 100, and 1st in the 4-by-100 Relay. Benjamin Zamora placed 5th in the 400 and 1st in the 4-by-100 Relay. The 4-by-400 Relay of Jaydin Nieto, Fabio Velazquez, Braulio Tamayo and Jonathon Lopez placed 2nd overall. In the long jump, Shawn Rowel placed 4th and Luis Solis placed 5th. On the ladies side Madison Guerrero placed 2nd in the 100, 3rd in the Long Jump, and in the 200. Valeria Ontiveros placed 2nd in the 200 and 1st in the 400. Daisy Contreras placed 3rd in the discus throw. On the varsity side: Yiannis “Big Mac” Vlahakis had a huge 22 foot personal record in the discus to place 3rd with a throw of 108 feet. Jonathan James placed 2nd in the High Jump with a personal best. Alfredo Reyes placed 3rd in the Long Jump. Bryan Ferman placed 4th in the Triple Jump. The rest of the Varsity team will finish their events on Wednesday at Liberty High School. Many of these young athletes will qualify over to the South Area Championships in two weeks where only the top 18 in each event will be able to compete. Great job lions!
